Well I just saw a new PR release on behalf of the fashion retailer Fashion Bug stating that they are going to be putting on the what they call the nation’s largest fashion show. They will be placing runways at all of their 900 locations to put on a fashion show featuring over 30 thousand women.
When it comes to fashion those whole love it are always in for a fashion show. Especially if it is local and convenient to attend. The idea of holding a fashion show at every store location is a very bold move I would say. Especially when you consider that each show will have a runway full of people that are more likely to be found in their stores than on a runway. Fashion Bug has gone the extra step of inviting not only their customers but all comers who are interested in working a runway to come on in and sign up.
What do you think is the cause of such a bold marketing statement? Has the price of gas taken a bite out the fashion industry as well? I would equate such a large undertaking as putting on a fashion show at every one of their location would indicate that the fashion world is hurting just like the rest of us. After all the intent of the fashion show itself is to raise awareness that there is affordable fashion out there for all of us.
What do you think of a marketing ploy like putting on a fashion show? Do you think that something a fashion show will actually get you to purchase their clothes? I don’t know about you but how much money I am spending on a weekly basis just to get back and forth to work has a lot to do with where I buy my clothes. What about you when it comes to a budget crunch like so many of us are in right now. Is fashion one of the first things to get cut back on or are there other things that you might squeeze out of the budget to ensure your passion for fashion never suffers. Please share you opinions and leave some comments, thanks for reading.
